The Tri-M Honor Society is the international music honor society for middle/junior high and high school students. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements, reward them for their accomplishments and service activities, and to inspire other students to excel at music and leadership.
Tri-M® is an honor society rather than a social club, members will be nominated and selected by the music faculty. The music faculty representatives will select students who show outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character to honor them for their accomplishments. Our aim is not only to recognize high achieving musicians, but also to increase awareness of music education through public performance as well as community service.
Some of the criteria for selection includes: Students must be in 10-12 grade and must currently be enrolled in a school music ensemble or class. Additionally students must have been enrolled for at least one semester of the previous school year at Lafayette. Students must have a 3.0 GPA in music courses, as well as overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. There are also expectations for leadership and service experience.
If this sounds like an opportunity for you, take a look at the LHS Tri-M page and submit your application by Thursday 9/10.
