Lafayette Madrigal Singers were the category winner for Mixed Youth Choirs in the Sing N Joy Festival in Louisville this weekend. They received a gold diploma for their performance.
The choir was also honored by an invitation to perform in the headline concert on Saturday night and lastly was selected by the jury members as one of four choirs to perform again at the closing awards ceremony.
The Madrigals sang in the Festival Choir which performed Bernstein's Chichester Psalms conducted by Dr. Kent Hatteberg, artistic director for Sing N Joy Louisville. The choir also marched in the Light Up Louisville Parade, sang a Friendship concert at the Muhammad Ali center, and sang at the Kalightoscope display.
