The Kentucky Ambassadors of Music program is an opportunity offered to Lafayette students to make music with students from across the state and experience travel abroad. The Kentucky Ambassadors of Music are a group of select high school musicians who present a series of concerts in seven European countries during a sixteen-day tour every other summer on even years. Over eighty Lafayette choir students have been nominated over the years and several have participated in the program. This is a great opportunity for students to expand their horizons and see the world. Students are nominated based upon character, musical ability, attitude, and commitment to the choral art.
The Kentucky program is run by Dr. Kent Hatteberg (choral) and Dr. Fred Speck (band), professors at the University of Louisville. Both of these gentlemen are outstanding musicians and provide the most outstanding musical experience for student musicians.
