The University of Kentucky Choral Department (Dr. Jefferson Johnson, Director of Choral Activities) sponsors the Male Chorus Day each year as a way to get men involved in and excited about singing. The Acousticats, UK’s a cappella Pop ensemble work with students throughout the day. New music is learned. (No music need be learned before they come for the day.)



The event usually lasts from 9:00 am until mid-afternoon with a free concert at the end.

UK Male Chorus Day Facts

• This event usually takes place in January each year on a Saturday on the UK Campus.

• Students choose to attend this event on their own. (it is not required)

• This event is held in the Singletary Center for the Arts on the UK Campus.

• Students sometimes get to sign with the Acousticats, the University’s Male A Cappella Pop ensemble.
