In Spring 2011 Lafayette SBDM council approved the following Arts & Humanities graduation requirement:
Students may elect to take three years of a single fine arts discipline (music, visual art, dance or drama) in lieu of the Visual & Performing Arts course usually taken during the junior year. If a student is on track to have 3 credits in a single art form by the time he or she graduates, this will exempt them from the A&H survey course. Students not wanting to take three years of fine arts may still elect to take the one year VPA course.
This is a very positive policy for students in Lafayette arts programs and recognizes the hard work and special skills students are developing in our arts programs.
Talk to your Lafayette Counselor for exact details and how you can take advantage of this opportunity.
